LiveSight og HDS Live? - Tenk deg om før du oppdaterer.

Etter at Lowrance lanserte Active Target i desember 2020, har fokuset hos Navico (eier av Lowrance) flyttet seg fra LiveSight og til nettopp Active Target. Nå kommer konsekvensen av det for oss med HDS Live.

HDS Live har vært direkte kompatibel med LiveSight siden sent i 2018. Dette i motsetning til HDS Carbon (generasjonen før HDS Live) og Elite FS (mellomklassemodellen til Lowrance) som alltid har krevd en modul (PSI-1) for å bruke LiveSight.

LiveSight ble fort en favoritt her i Team Colibri til både vertikalfiske og trolling med dyprigg. Vi har skrevet og filmet en hel del om praktisk bruk av denne ekkoloddgiveren, også etter at Active Target kom på markedet. LiveSight bruker lavere frekvens og har forskjellig konevinkel kontra Active Target, så til tross for dårligere oppløsning enn Active Target har LiveSight hatt et bruksområde som var midt i blinken for mange brukere i Norge, og for undertegnede spesielt.

For den dedikerte spinnfiskere er for all del Active Target veien å gå, men vi er mange som bruker vel så mye tid med andre fisketeknikker. Dessverre avsluttet Lowrance produksjonen av LiveSight for et års tid siden, så skal man ha LiveSight nå er det bruktmarkedet eller en forhandler med litt støvete lagerbeholdning som gjelder.

Men så til poenget - nå endres softwaren til HDS Live! Dette gjøres delvis for å klargjøre den for kommende S3100-modul og Active Imaging HD, det vil si de nye ekkoloddgiverne for side- og downscan som støtter chirp og høye frekvenser for skannende ekkolodd. Ulempen er at dersom du oppdaterer din HDS Live til å støtte dette, så må du ha PSI-1 modulen for å bruke LiveSight. Per nå er den siste softwareverasjonen til HDS Live som støtter LiveSight 22.1-65.1.18. Allerede versjon 22.1-65.1.22 (som en helt ny HDS Live leveres med) fjerner støtten for LiveSight uten PSI-1 modul.

Siden man ikke kan nedgradere softwaren fra versjonen en HDS Live leveres med, vil en ny HDS Live i praksis kreve modul uansett, ved mindre den er en hyllevarmer som forlot fabrikken før 22.1-65.1.22 dukket opp. HDS Live produsert etter september 2022 har ny software og krever PSI-1 modulen for LiveSight.

Så dersom du ønsker å kombinere Lowrance HDS Live og LiveSight UTEN bruk av modul - sørg for å holde den på softwareversjon 22.1-65.1.18 - IKKE oppdatert softwaren.
