Fang og slipp - feil og riktig

Fang og slipp er ikke noe nytt i Norge. Vi har sluppet ut fisk som er for små eller som vi ikke vil spise i flere generasjoner. Alikevel kan man nesten få inntrykk av at dette er noe nytt når man følger enkelte diskusjoner.

Uansett hva man mener om fang og slipp, er det svært viktig at det gjøres på en fornuftig måte. Undertegnede praktiserer fang og slipp jevnlig, og jeg kan få frysninger av å se skrekkeksempler. Behandles fisken dårlig blir fang og slipp ren dyremishandling, og det har ingenting å gjøre med ansvarlig sportsfiske. Jeg vil gjerne løfte frem en artikel skrevet av Endre Hopland for Hooked, som på en lett forståelig måte bør styre sportsfiskeren unna de værste snublefellene:

Nå i vinterhalvåret er det spesielt viktig å ta høyde for lufttemperaturen når fisk skal gjenutsettes. En grei tommelfingerregel er at når det er -5 eller kaldere skal ikke fisken ut av vannet dersom den skal gjenutsettes. Fisken får veldig fort frostskader, og det er særlig øynene som er utsatt. Fisk flest har ikke øyelokk, og hinnen på øyet er absolutt ikke tilpasset kuldegrader.

Lowrance as a brand of marine electronis is well known to all anglers, but the differences within their range of different models seem to cause quite a few questions out there.
